Heavy Equipment Operators Program
Heavy Equipment Operators Are Crucial For Maintaining The Safety And Feasibility Of Construction Projects

CITC’s three-year Heavy Equipment Operator (HEO) Program is a theory/competency-based program geared towards preparing students for a wide range of careers in this industry. Classes are available in a traditional classroom and shop setting and are typically held during the winter quarter. Students of the HEO Program will meet in four-week blocks, for a minimum of 160 hours per year. A Certificate of Completion to Journey-Level is awarded to those who successfully complete all three levels.

The HEO Program aims to provide students with the necessary skills they need to effectively manage any project that requires moving and transporting heavy materials. The curriculum includes specialized classes that cover topics such as Excavation Math, Civil Drawings Interpretation, and Grading. All CITC students are granted the opportunity to learn from journey-level workers with years of trade knowledge and experience.
